Decking Replacement · Camano Island, WA · Island County
Decking replacement on Camano Island, WA — new boards on a frame we've verified.
Camano decks split by shore: west-bluff decks that take spray and southwest wind off Saratoga Passage, and interior decks under trees where moss eats cedar from the top while the ledger rots from behind. We replace decking and railing on structurally sound frames, and flash the house connection like the wall penetration it is.

Deck Resurfacing on Your Existing Frame
Here's the honest economics of Camano decks: the boards fail long before the frame does. Cedar decking grays, splinters, and goes soft within 15–20 wet years, while the pressure-treated joists underneath often have decades left. Resurfacing — new decking and railing on your existing frame — captures that difference, typically saving thousands over a full rebuild.
To be clear about what we do: we replace decking on existing, structurally sound frames — we don't build new decks from the ground up. The frame verdict comes first: we probe joists, posts, and the ledger connection before quoting. If the structure passes, you get composite-ready spacing corrections and new boards. If it doesn't, we tell you straight — new boards on a rotting frame is the one project we won't sell.
The detail most Camano decks get wrong is the ledger — the board bolting the deck to your house. Water that gets behind it rots the house wall itself, which turns a deck project into a rot restoration. As a siding contractor, we flash that connection to wall standards, not deck-builder shortcuts.
